Contribution:
Mentored the team in creation of level spaces, gameplay ingredients, and elements meant for use in levels (art, gameplay, sound).
Planned major and minor story beats through 3D environments across several maps.
Distributed various currencies and resources across a large open-world sandbox map with varied biomes, balancing around progression in both tech trees and story moments.
Used camera controls directly and indirectly (i.e. Unreal Sequencer, visual framing) to showcase critical visual material and cutscenes whenever necessary to players.
Took levels from paper prototypes to finalized 3D environments in engine.
Produced new level ingredients, features, and systems through Unreal Engine’s blueprints system.
Provided opportunities to players to engage in multiple styles of gameplay (i.e. socialization, trading, managing, building, combat, exploration).
Worked with artists, writers, engineers, and QA to help push levels, towns, and dungeons through each phase of development.
Researched world elements, lore, and factions in a major long-standing, multi-billion dollar franchise this project would fit into the world of.
During my time working on this game, I created:
4 short dungeons (~10 min gameplay each)
1 large open-world sandbox map with resources placed, 6 biomes (~8 hours gameplay)
4 Towns/Settlements with interactive NPCs and opportunities for intrigue and building (~30 min gameplay each)
An introductory prison (~5 min gameplay)
